These short videos feature an individual who is being recognized for a great accomplishment or milestone.  These feature videos are frequently used to showcase retirees, award-winners, inductees and distinguished alumni but are also ideal for people celebrating milestone birthdays and anniversaries. These videos can be anywhere from 3 – 6 minutes long and usually have a light-hearted, emotional or entertaining feel.  Music, photos and memorabilia and creative scripting add flavor to these engaging stories.

 

Louis A. Day

Retired Professor at LSU Manship School of Mass Communication 

Dr. Louis A. Day retired in December, 2016 after more than 30-years of teaching at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication. Dr. Day was known for his tough Media Ethics classes, his unyielding professionalism as a member of dozens of campus committees and his often-shared, office-brewed coffee. Congratulations and best of luck in your much-deserved retirement.

 

Jeffrey Wright

2016 LSU Manship Hall of Fame Inductee

Jeffrey David Wright, BA ‘82 - Wright co-founded Wright Feigley Communications with Stuart Feigley in November 2006. The agency has worked for prominent organizations such as Campus Federal, LCTA Workers’ Comp, BASF, and Keep Louisiana Beautiful. Trained as an advertising account executive, Wright was known for his acumen in strategy, public relations and crisis communications. He was involved in many civic pursuits, and was passionate about making Baton Rouge a better city and Louisiana a better state. Wright passed away in September 2014. 

 

Lou Major

2012 LSU Manship Hall of Fame Inductee

Feature video on Lou Major and his career within the state's newspaper industry. Lou was inducted into the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication Hall of Fame in 2012. Lou began writing for the Daily Reveille while studying Journalism at LSU in the late 40's. Lou was then a editor, writer and publisher for the Bogalusa Daily News before being named President of the paper's parent company - Wick Communications.  

 

Charlie McBride

2016 LSU Manship Hall of Fame Inductee

CCharlie McBride, BA ’65 Throughout his professional career, McBride has used his journalism skills to help shape public policy and to promote the value of good government. He has an outstanding professional record, particularly in the public policy arena where, for more than four decades, he has effectively used his communication and leadership skills to identify solutions, develop proposals and legislative strategies, and influence government on a national and international platform. McBride’s many philanthropic endeavors include serving 30 years on the Board of Directors of the Close Up Foundation, which conducts the nation’s largest civic-education program for students and teachers. McBride is considered an expert on Congressional legislation on energy and environment

 

Elayn Hunt Eicher

2010 LSU Manship School of Mass Communication's Hall of Fame Inductee

EElayn Hunt has been posthumously inducted into the LSU Manship School of Mass Comm Hall of Fame in the fall of 2012. Hunt made a name for herself as a prison reformer in the early to mid 70's as Louisiana's first female head of the Department of Corrections. Prior to her post as Director of La's infamous penal system, Hunt was a criminal defense attorney in BR for more than two decades. Prior to entering LSU law school, Hunt was a writer for the State Times/Morning Advocate newspapers. She graduated from the LSU Manship Journalism School in 1945 with a minor in Sociology. Hunt died from pancreatic cancer in 1976 at the age of 50, but her legacy and her positive changes continue on today.
